The Revolve:R Project
Revolve:R is a project I have been involved with now since 2013. It's a multidisciplinary and international collaboration based on visual correspondence - initiated in 2011, by Sam Treadaway and Ricarda Vidal - which explores a transmission of ideas via physical and tactile forms of communication (such as printed matter and the postal service) and includes a parallel interplay online. Besides imagery, Revolve:R includes poetry, film, soundscapes and music. Each Revolve:R edition is presented as a bookwork publication.
As a multidisciplinary site and source for experimentation and exchange Revolve:R aims to support artists involved through the publication and exhibition of their work. With a strong focus on collaborative practice, the project facilitates communications between national and international arts communities, to transcend geographic and linguistic boundaries, and is intended as a vehicle for new and responsive artistic dialogue and interaction.
Revolve:R (edition two) was launched at The Fruitmarket Bookmarket, Edinburgh, in 2015 has been exhibited at the Hours Gallery in Bristol this year, and more recently was supported and exhibited by the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham.
Edition three is currently in development and due to be published in 2018, see Revolve:R for more.
